Winter is drawing in and we’re all looking for ways to stay warm on our bikes. There’s a wide range of products out there to help from thermal layers to electrically heated clothing and they all have their pro’s and cons.
This month we tested a new product from Exotogg, a UK based manufacturer founded by Tony Hawkins.
Tony has been an all-season biker for the past 20+ years. He developed the Exotogg Inflatable Thermal Armour after leaving home on his bike, getting to cold and adapting an inflatable tent as a quick fix inside his jacket to try to keep warm. That was his eureka moment.
At first glance Exotogg Inflatable Thermal Armour does look lifejacket like and that’s no mistake. The product is manufactured in the UK by a lifejacket manufacturer. As Tony says, he could have gone out to Asia to make the thermal armour but wanted to maintain quality and control closer to home.
