The all-new 2019 Speed Twin from Triumph

Its smooth dynamic handling and superb responsive feel established Triumph as the number one motorcycle marque globally for performance and handling, setting the template for all that followed, and earning a global reputation for being the first real ‘riders bike’.

The new Speed Twin carries all of the custom style of the Street Twin adding more premium details. It delivers all the power, torque and technology of the Thruxton R, in an even more accessible modern set-up. It offers the confidence inspiring ride and rider comfort of the Bonneville T120, but with even more engaged ergonomics.

The result, just like its iconic 20th century namesake, is a new performance icon that sets a whole new standard, with the chassis set-up, riding position, braking ability, suspension, and thrilling power delivery of a truly modern roadster.

For 2019, the all-new 1200cc Speed Twin re-introduces this illustrious Triumph name to our Modern Classics line-up, setting all over again a new standard in class-leading handling, and delivering a new benchmark for how a modern custom roadster should ride and feel.

Finally a Scrambler with attitude

Triumph have now introduced the Scrambler 1200 XC and Scrambler 1200 XE line up, all-new motorcycles that represent a first for dual-purpose capability and modern custom style. These beautiful new 1200 scramblers deliver a category redefining level of performance, specification and finish, fused with Triumph’s iconic Scrambler DNA and all the capability of a genuine adventure motorcycle.

The 1200 Scrambler XC is built with an all-road & off-road focus whilst the 1200 Scrambler XE is built to be just as great on the road but with even more extreme off-road capability.

Both bikes come with the 1200cc Bonneville twin engine, with dedicated Scrambler tune, delivering 90 PS @ 7,400 rpm and torque output of 110 Nm @ 3,950rpm.

The characteristic high level exhaust and a signature twin Scrambler soundtrack is still there but the old model looks (which were getting a bit tired) are gone replaced by much a enhanced Scrambler look – and all the tech and accessories to match.

We’ll bring you more in the November issue of Ride Scotland.

Win a Bonneville-inspired Popbangcolour artwork

Created by internationally renowned British Artist, Ian Cook, the distinctive artwork was painted using a number of unique techniques, including his famed approach of using a fleet of toy cars and motorcycles as paintbrushes.

Currently on display at the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience, the artwork has been commissioned as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the iconic Triumph Bonneville.

Every new Triumph motorcycle customer between now and 30th September, 2018, will be entered into a prize draw to win the one-off painting, which will be presented to the winner at this year’s Motorcycle Live show (17th – 25th November, 2018) at the NEC, Birmingham.

An impressive 2.4 metres wide and 1.2 metres tall, the detailed Bobber Black painting took two days to create, requiring 25 litres of acrylic and water-based paint and the use of 100 radio-controlled cars.

Ian Cook, Coventry-based PopBangColour artist, said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to work on a lot of great projects in my career but this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of such an iconic motorcycle through my work – I’m really pleased with the final piece.”

Paul Lilly, General Manager, Triumph Motorcycles UK & Ireland, added: “Ian creates some really amazing and bespoke pieces of art. We’re very happy with how the painting has turned out and look forward to handing it over to its new lucky owner later this year at the NEC.”
